Horse Portrait

This is a portrait drawing of a black horse. The side profile shows that the head type is Roman nosed. Below are pictures of the drawing as well as a short video outlining the drawing process from start to finish for this piece.

Revised Unicorn Drawing



I recently (May 3, 2012) decided to revise a drawing that I did in 2010. Below you can see some pictures of the new version as well as a picture of the old version at the end.
This drawing was done in Derwent graphite pencils, and the dimensions are 8.5'' x 11''. The revision includes some reshaping around the muzzle, and a lot more shading and blending of tones. I added more dark shadows and highlights where appropriate.
Revising an old piece is always difficult for me, because I become attached to my creations and I am afraid of ruining them by attempting to change them. However, I am very pleased with how this drawing turned out and now I feel that it is complete.
